Production Processes

Seeds production

Jannah Seeds collaborates with local and international partners to produce seed varieties and cultivars on dedicated production farms selected according to strict criteria. This starts with the selection of fertile agricultural soil and clean water, followed by soil preparation, seed planting, and culminating in packaging, labeling, and storage. Jannah Seeds produces seeds in various regions with diverse environments, enabling farmers to address environmental challenges and ensure seed quality. The company employs a dedicated technical team to inspect seeds in production farms for varietal purity, disease-free status, and other quality aspects.

Jannah Seeds prioritizes the use of dedicated facilities for seed cleaning, sieving, processing, disinfection, and fumigation with insecticides and fungicides to ensure that seeds are free from diseases and insects.

Storage and Quality Control

We go beyond industry standards to ensure our products consistently meet the highest quality and performance criteria. A dedicated team of technical specialists at Jannah Seeds meticulously inspects every batch of seeds to confirm they adhere to the highest quality standards. Specialized technical personnel also oversee the seed production fields to evaluate seed crop growth conditions and monitor seed quality throughout every step of the process. Seeds are then stored carefully in the company’s warehouses in designated large containers considering optimal climatic conditions. The seed lots arriving at the warehouses are tested according to the international rules for seed testing and consistent with ISTA system (International Seed Testing Association), where laboratory technicians perform tests to determine the germination, viability, analytical purity, varietal purity, moisture content of the seeds, and thousand-seed weight to assess the quality of the seeds.

After that, the seed samples are planted in experimental fields to ensure the purity of the variety. Jannah Seeds also uses external laboratories to test the DNA of the seeds, ensure that there are no diseases, the purity of the hybrid, and verify the variety so that “Jannah Seeds” guarantees that the seeds it provides are homogeneous, healthy, strong, and clean.

Packaging

All seeds are packaged according to customer requirements and market demands. Jannah Seeds utilizes a variety of packaging materials to meet customer preferences. Seeds can also be treated with various chemical solutions upon request.

Research and Development

Jannah Seeds has been keen to keep pace with technological developments and advanced scientific research by establishing a specialized department in research and development, which includes an elite group of experts, researchers and consultants who are constantly working to develop local seeds that help adapt to environmental challenges through innovative research and scientific experiments in the latest technologies and developing new seeds for local crops through well-known breeding programs (purifying and improving local varieties – introducing new varieties – developing new hybrids), which are characterized by:

Genetic quality of high purity.

Producing strong strains.

Consistency in the shapes and sizes of fruits.

High production.

Resistant to diseases and viruses.

Longer lifespan to reduce food waste to contribute to preserving the environment.

Better adapt to the environment

Excellent taste and flavor while maintaining sustainable standards.

Higher tolerance to biological stresses.

The company also owns laboratories equipped with the latest advanced and modern technological devices.

Screening and Sorting

The company has been keen to have an integrated production line that includes the latest machines and devices for the screening and sorting process with the latest technologies, as it is one of the most important stages that are relied upon during the production stage of the finest varieties and seeds.  It works in several stages, which is the phase that requires shedding more light on it, to identify its important role in ensuring that the finest seeds reach farmers with the necessary degree of purity to obtain excellent quality and high and abundant production:

Pre- Screening Procedures:

There are two main steps before the screening and sorting process is approved:

  1. Taking samples of the raw material for examination.
  2. Verifying the percentage (germination, purity, examination of disease and insect infections).

After the test results appear, one of two things will happen:

  • The sample will be rejected for not meeting the technical specifications required for accreditation,
  • It will be eligible to undergo the screening and sorting process and complete the Screening and sorting stages.

Screening machine:

The screening machine removes impurities such as dust, gravel and plant residues. It also sorts seeds according to size, removing small, shrunken and broken seeds, and keeping large seeds of uniform size, which helps to increase the efficiency and vitality of seeds as well as increase the germination rate, which ensures that the farmer obtains seeds of high quality and economic feasibility that help increase crop production.

Weight Sorter:

The weight sorter removes infected and light seeds that are hollow inside and helps in selecting the healthiest and strongest seeds, which helps in increasing germination rates as heavy seeds are usually more mature and contain more nutrients, which increases the chances of their successful germination.

Laser Color Sorter:

The color sorter has the ability of human eye perception, which professionally removes defective seeds, impurities and heterogeneous particles according to the difference in seed color and sorts out any difference in seed color to select high-quality and homogeneous seeds.

Seed Treatment

Seed treatment, disinfection and sterilization with insect and fungal disinfectants is one of the most important processes, ensuring that seeds are free from diseases and insects, protecting them from pests, viruses and pollution, and improving their quality. Seed treatment before planting also contributes to achieving higher efficiency in crop productivity during the early growth stages.

In addition, treated seeds contribute to increasing the shelf life of crops after harvest. The process of seed treatment before planting aims to enhance seed quality and increase success rates in growth and productivity.

There are many specialized solutions available in this field, including chemical solutions that include the use of fungicides and insecticides, and sometimes chemical growth stimulants to cover seeds before planting.
